§ 01Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the FAM Tours website at fam-tours.com, our booking and enquiry forms, the FAM Tours Submissions Admin panel served at /admin, and any related email or WhatsApp correspondence initiated by FAM Tours. It covers personal data collected from website visitors, prospective clients, bookers, charter guests, corporate contacts, partnership contacts, and after-booking support requests.

This policy does not apply to third-party websites we link to — for example, marina websites, payment processors, or social platforms. Each of those has its own privacy practices and you should review them separately.

§ 02What we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Identity & contact — name, email, phone number, WhatsApp number, country.
  • Booking details — preferred dates, guest counts, vessel of interest, occasion, message text.
  • Company details — company name, role, business email (for corporate and partnership enquiries).
  • Technical — IP address, browser type, device type, referring URL, general geographic region (derived from IP).
  • Communications — the contents of any message you send us, voice notes on WhatsApp, replies to our emails.
  • Cookies & analytics — see the dedicated section below.

We do not knowingly collect special-category data (health, biometrics, religious beliefs, etc.) unless you explicitly volunteer it in the context of a charter (for accessibility or medical needs at sea, for example).

§ 03Why we collect it

  • To respond to enquiries — name, phone, email and message text are used to reply to your enquiry, usually within four hours during operating hours.
  • To process bookings — booking details, contact details, and any dietary or accessibility notes are used to stage your charter (vessel assignment, crew briefing, catering, marina logistics).
  • To invoice and account — corporate clients receive invoicing against agreed payment terms; we retain the minimum data needed to fulfil tax and audit obligations.
  • To operate the website — technical data is used to keep the site available, fast, and secure, and to detect abuse.
  • To improve — aggregated analytics help us know which pages and tours are useful and which aren’t.
  • To comply with law — to meet UAE record-keeping, maritime authority and tax obligations.

§ 05Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share the minimum data necessary with a small number of trusted parties:

  • Crew and operations — the captain and lead host briefed on your charter receive a guest list and any accessibility or medical notes.
  • Marina teams — Dubai Marina, Dubai Harbour, or Port Saeed berth masters receive names of guests and arrival times for safety and access.
  • Caterers and add-on vendors — only if you have added catering, decoration, or photography to your booking; we share headcount, dietary notes, and event time.
  • Payment and invoicing partners — for corporate clients, with the relevant finance counterparties you designate.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers — our web and form infrastructure may be hosted with providers inside and outside the country; data is encrypted in transit.
  • Regulators — where required by UAE law or valid legal process.
What we will never do. We will never sell, rent, or trade your contact details to a third-party marketing list. We will never publish your name or likeness in marketing material without explicit written consent.

§ 06How long we keep it

  • Enquiry records — 24 months from last contact.
  • Booking records — 7 years from charter date, to meet UAE tax and audit obligations.
  • Accounting & invoices — 7 years.
  • Marketing consent — until you withdraw consent.
  • Server logs — 90 days, then aggregated.

After the retention period, data is either deleted, anonymised, or archived in a form that no longer identifies you.

§ 07Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies. Strictly-necessary cookies keep the site running (session state, server load balancing). Optional analytics cookies are only set if you opt in. See our full Cookies Policy for details.

§ 08Your rights

Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law you have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion of data we are not required to keep for legal reasons.
  • Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office.

To exercise any of these rights, write to info@fam-tours.com. We will respond within the statutory window.

§ 09International transfers

Some of our infrastructure and tool vendors may process data outside the United Arab Emirates. Where this occurs we ensure an adequate level of protection is in place — typically through contractual safeguards equivalent to the UAE PDPL standard.

§ 10Children

Our website is not directed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Bookings made on behalf of minors (e.g. a family charter) are placed by the adult who is the booking contact.

§ 11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, communicated by email to active clients.
